Newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Dominican H.E. Ysset Román Maldonado presented on Monday her credentials to Ambassador Nabil Habashi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chief of Protocol, Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both sides discussed and sought ways and means to enhance cooperation between Egypt and the Dominican Republic in potential areas of mutual interest and benefit.
During the ceremony of the presentation of the copies of the letter of credence, H.E. Román emphasized the Dominican Republic’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations with Egypt through, cultural exchange programs, and economic cooperation. She also highlighted the significance of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Reham Ammar, Deputy Director of Protocol, and Ms. Kenya Liranzo, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Dominican Embassy in Cairo.
Prior to her new position, H.E. Román has been serving as a diplomat for more than 30 years for the Dominican Republic.
