The UN family in Egypt will be represented at the Global Congress on Health, Population and Development (PHDC’23) in Cairo, from September 5-8 by the "UN Booth in Egypt" aligned with the Global Congress agenda, with a special focus on the various programs, activities, and initiatives of the UN in Egypt, all coming under the theme “A Healthy Population: The backbone of the SDGs” with additional tagline “Act Now for Our Common Future” to highlight the policy of the UN system in Egypt in dealing with Health, Population and Development issues.
The significant demographic, social, and economic changes are challenging to achieve UN sustainable development goals and ensure health and well-being for all.
In addition to the global threats of water scarcity, food crisis, and climate change which all jeopardize the sustainable and economic development of nations worldwide.
Ministers, civil society representatives, non-governmental organizations, investors, the private sector, researchers, and specialists in the fields of health, population, and development are gathering in Cairo to participate in the Global Congress on Health, Population, and Development.
The United Nations Booth in Egypt also emphasizes Health, Population, and Egyptian national sustainable development issues.
The events will include discussions focused on enhancing implementation across priority issues, as well as an opportunity to network with heads of UN agencies, CEOs of private institutions, and civil society representatives to develop practical, impactful, and ambitious solutions.
They will address several Health, Population, and development challenges, including Improving the availability, quality, and accessibility of all health services, increasing sustainable financing flows toward access to information and quality health services, accelerating investments in human capital, and underscoring that climate change is contributing to the humanitarian emergencies.
In addition, stakeholders' voices will be heard, and they will have the opportunity to showcase solutions and effectively engage in critical global dialogue on Health, Population and Development implementation, with a strong emphasis on a just transition.
