Located in Egypt's western desert, approximately 800 kilometers from Cairo, Siwa Oasis is a beautiful haven of natural springs and palm trees surrounded by the desert. It's a highly-recommended spot that attracts different tourists from all over the world every year.
The oasis is famous for its salt lakes, which are natural and allow visitors to float effortlessly on the water. Even if you're not a great swimmer, you can still soak in the breathtaking views of the salt pools.
The lakes are high in salt concentration, so there's no need to worry about drowning.
In addition to the salt lakes, Siwa Oasis also boasts hot and cold salt pools, as well as salt and freshwater springs. There are over 220 springs in the oasis, with Cleopatra's Pool being the most famous. This pool is located near the Temple of Amun and is shaded by cafes and changing huts.
If you're planning a visit to Siwa and the Salt lakes, it's best to go in April or October when the weather is cooler.
