The FIFA World Cup 2022 is down to its last eight teams after another week of heart-pounding action that saw two round of 16 matches come down to penalties, resulting in two fantastic footballing stories and heartache for 2010 champions Spain and 2018 runner-up Croatia.

The reigning champions France are still in the tournament, along with three other previous champions, two first-time quarterfinalists in Japan and Morocco, and three other past champions.

Between December 9 and 11, quarterfinal matches will be played at 8:30 PM and 12:30 AM IST.
