On Tuesday, Amr Qandil, the Health Minister Assistant for Preventive Medicine, announced that all detected Monkeypox cases in Egypt recovered.
Kandil added that there is no need for any concerns related to the situation of Monkeypox in Egypt, asserting that there is a strong system of observation for infectious diseases.
Last year, the Ministry of Health announced a new Monkeypox infection in Egypt. The patient is 39 years old and was transported to the hospital.
All required measures were taken by the ministry for the patient and people who were in direct contact with the recently detected case.
More than 18,000 Monkeypox infections were reported across 78 countries, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus said.
Ghebreyesus provided his Moneypox updates as part of his COVID-19 remarks, revealing that there were five Monkeypox deaths, however, 10% of cases are hospitalized.
He said: "This is an outbreak that can be stopped, if countries, communities and individuals inform themselves, take risks seriously, and take the steps needed to stop transmission and protect vulnerable groups,"
“The best way to do that is to reduce the risk of exposure. That means making safe choices for yourself and others."
