Ali El Haggar Performs at Cairo Opera House

Iconic Egyptian singer Ali El Haggar led an outstanding performance yesterday at Cairo Opera House. The concert was organized as part of the Arabic Music Festival and Conference in its 29th edition.

El Haggar who started his performance by "A'ala A'ad Ma Habina" (As We Loved) presented a huge number of his known hits such as "Ya Talee' Al Shagara," "Lama El Sheta Yedo' El Beban" (When Winter Hits the Doors), "Aa'rfa' (Do You Know), and "Ana Kont Ee'dek" (I was Your Joy).

The setlist he performed was variously and beautifully organized as it includes romantic songs, sorrowful ones, national songs, and his most celebrated TV Shows songs such as "Bawabet El Halawany" (The Pastyr's Gate), "El Lail Wi Aa'khroh" (From Night to Dawn), and "Masaa'let Mabdaa'" (Issue of Principles).

The venue was dominated by the audience's greetings when one of the orchestra members started playing the folk rebab and started a short solo as an intro for "El Lail Wi Akhroh" song.

El Haggar's nostalgic strong voice brought many memories to the audience especially through performing the hits he presented early in his career.

During the concert, he thanked the Culture Minister Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Cairo Opera House Head Dr. Magdi Saber, and AMFC Director Dr. Gihan Morsi for letting such a beautiful festival happen in the shades of COVID-19 impacts.

He also expressed, it is my 29th year to participate at this festival and I still feel the same worrying.

Arabic Music Festival and Conference‘s 29th edition takes place between 1 to 10 November.

The Festival’s activities take place on various venues including the Cairo Opera House different stages, Alexandria Opera House, and Damnhour Opera House.

Furthermore, the festival’s program carries 29 concerts, and the participation of 93 musicians mainly from 5 Arab countries: Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Iraq, and Jordan.
