Egyptian singer Ali El Haggar announced on Friday that he and his wife contracted the coronavirus.
"Thanks God for everything, please pray for us," El Haggar wrote oh his Facebook while announcing the sad news.
A number of Egyptian artists have died from complications of the deadly virus in 2021. Among them were actor Hadi El Gayar who died on January 10 at the age of 71, actor Youssef Chaban who died at the age of 90 on February 28, actor Mohamed Raihan who died on May 14, and actress Nadia Al-Iraqia who passed away on May 16.
In the same vein, Reuters latest statistics showed on Friday that more than 165.17 million people were infected with Coronavirus worldwide, including 3 million and 560696 deaths.
