Al-Shabab, a Somali terrorist movement, assailed Mogadishu International Airport hours ago.

Today’s attack is the first since the repulsion of the movement from the Somali capital in 2011.

Observers consider that attack is a dangerous threat to the country that attempts to recover from decades of famine and devastating civil war since the early years of the 90s.

A spokesman for Somali police added that reports of shots heard after the attack as clashes between terrorists and security personnel are still ongoing.

Local reports said that three of the attacking terrorists were killed, meanwhile, the deputy of the commandant of the airport fell in confrontations.

The state-run television indicated that police forces dealt with a terrorist incident that took place at the gates of a Somali army camp in Mogadishu.
