Al-Obaidi: Tahoun Comes 1st in Vienna Opera Singing Competition

Bahgat Al-Obaidi, an Egyptian writer residing in Austria and founder of the World Federation of Egyptian Citizens Abroad, said that among the remarkable Egyptian talents is the emerging Egyptian singer in the art of operatic singing, Maryam Tahoun, who achieved first place in a city in Austria in a competition held recently in Vienna, the first city of operatic singing in the world.

Al-Obaidi added that after Tahoun won the first place in Vienna, she advanced to compete for the first place at the level of all of Austria, which is what made the Egyptian community happier in Austria.

Al-Obaidi affirmed that, until the moment, Tahoun has achieved first place in the competition, the results of which will be announced on the eighteenth of this month.

The founder of the World Federation of Egyptian Citizens Abroad wished success to her and to every Egyptian who presented an outstanding work that reflects the most beautiful image of our dear homeland, stressing that the Egyptian community contributes greatly to all walks of life in Austria.

Members of the Egyptian community contribute to the fields of education, health sports, artistic fields and culture.

This is evident in the conferences held by Nabila Makram Abdel-Shaheed, Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Abroad, under the title "Egypt Can", and which hosts prominent Egyptians abroad.

The founder of the World Federation of Egyptian Citizens Abroad added that every Egyptian abroad has a talent for some field, is a specific case that adds to the name of Egypt.

He pointed out that Egypt has a special status among the various peoples of the world, which can be seen as an addition to the Egyptian soft powers represented by the Egyptian institutions, such as the religious ones such as Al-Azhar and the Coptic Church, who have a great international reputation.

The Egyptian arts, culture, the various Egyptian talents and the superior models add to the reputation of Egypt abroad.

There are prominent names such as the international player Mohamed Salah, the engineer Hani Azar, Dr. Magdy Yacoub, the great late Dr. Ahmed Zewail and many others, even if they were not famous for these prominent models.
