H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, held intensive meetings with ministry leaders on the second day of her work at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
Al-Mashat met with Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim, the Ministry's Permanent Undersecretary, and several leaders and teams in the fields of macroeconomics, human resources, financial and administrative affairs, digital transformation, international cooperation, smart green projects, and integrated services.
The Minister will continue her meetings with ministry leaders and sectors to define work priorities for the upcoming period.
Al-Mashat emphasized that the upcoming period marks a pivotal stage in the nation's history, where everyone is united to confront economic challenges, achieve development, and meet the expectations and aspirations placed on the new government.
She noted H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to the government regarding comprehensive development across all levels, prioritizing health, education, human capital development, industrial localization, as well as promoting domestic and foreign investments.
The directives outline the government's path for the upcoming period, along with the continuation of the economic reform journey, support for development plans, and encouragement of private sector investments.
The meetings witnessed in-depth discussions with officials from various files on the orientations and priorities of the upcoming stage, enhancing integration and coordination between the files of the ministries of international cooperation and planning and economic development, to support economic and social development efforts in Egypt.
This aligns with Egypt's Vision 2030, which is consistent with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and meets the requirements and priorities of the state and presidential mandates issued to the government.
The minister further highlighted that the ministry operates under a broader vision and mandate from the government aimed at building human capital, which tops the work priorities for the upcoming period.
Al-Mashat highlighted efforts to strengthen partnerships with multilateral and bilateral development partners regionally and internationally, supporting these efforts to reflect on the state's development plans across various sectors, and developing the Sustainable Development Vision 2030 in collaboration with relevant national entities.
She also indicated efforts to achieve maximum benefit from planning and international cooperation tools to support state priorities in industrial localization and increasing investments.
