Secretary-General of Arab League (AL), Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said on Saturday that Libya is going through a 'serious juncture'.
In a statement, Aboul Gheit called on all various Libyan parties to put the country’s supreme interest above all interests, noting that Libya is going through a ‘serious juncture’ that requires everyone to join hands and cooperate to achieve the elections as soon as possible.
He also stressed that Libyan people should have the right to choose whoever expresses their will, to help preserve the unity and sovereignty of the state.
Moreover, the AL Chief underlined the need for a “national consensus” on the legal and procedural rules for the elections.
