Al-Azhar Grand Imam Visits Al-Sayyida Zainab Mosque after Renovations

Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed El-Tayyeb visited Sayyida Zainab Mosque in Cairo, earlier today, Monday

He was received by Dr. Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa, Minister of Endowments, and a number of leaders of the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments.

The Minister of Endowments reviewed the renovation work in the mosque, which included the new shrine enclosure, the archaeological restorations inside the mosque and in its outer courtyards, the architectural decorations, and the comprehensive development of the mosque's services and facilities, its courtyards and minarets.

He informed Al-Azhar Grand Imam about the general plan for the renovation process and the stages of its implementation.

For his part, El-Tayyeb expressed his appreciation for the state's efforts and its keenness to care for and restore mosques and Islamic monuments.
