The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al Tayeb met the Pakistani Ambassador to Egypt Sajid Bilal on Tuesday.
Bilal reviewed the importance of the extraordinary session for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation state members; foreign ministers on December 19 in Islamabad, concerning the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
Therefore, the ambassador confirmed that the meeting had members from the state members’ foreign ministries, state members’ representatives, and guests from: the United Nations, international monetary organizations, the European Union, the five permanent members of the Security Council, and Japan.

Bilal also asserted that Pakistan expressed its commitment towards enhancing peace, prosperity, and stability for the Afghanistan people, that’s why a new fund at the Islamic Bank was established for introducing humanitarian aids to Afghanistan.
Finally, the ambassador presented a new collection of religious interpretations (fatwa) provided by several pioneering Pakistani Islamic scholars. The new reference is called Paigham-e-Pakistan, and it supports the concepts of tolerance and peace.
