Al-Azhar expresses its deep sorrow over the continued international and global inaction in the face of the tragic conditions endured by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, which has been under siege for over 15 months.
This crisis has reached new levels of horror during the winter season, marked by the collapse of tents, flooding, and freezing conditions leading to the death of children in their mothers' arms.
Such scenes are a testament to the numbness of global decision-makers and the absence of any sincere desire to put an end to this criminal aggression.
Al-Azhar also laments the lack of international, Arab, political, and media attention to the atrocities in Gaza, where innocent civilians are subjected to systematic ethnic cleansing, genocide, and unprecedented massacres.
This tragic situation underscores the false success of the Zionist entity and its supporters in normalizing the killing of children and women in Gaza, portraying these heinous crimes as ordinary events. Many now follow such news without grasping the magnitude of the crimes committed, moving on to other stories as if nothing has happened; as if the killing of innocent Palestinians is not a crime, as if they are a people without rights, excluded from global human rights declarations, and unprotected by international laws and charters designed to safeguard humanity.
Amid these horrors, Al-Azhar urgently calls for taking all necessary measures, actions, and mechanisms to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid and relief supplies to the devastated people of Gaza. The Palestinian people must be rescued from a comprehensive humanitarian disaster that spares neither the elderly nor children nor women, all caused by brutal and barbaric aggression devoid of any religious, moral, or humanitarian restraint.
