His Eminence the Grand Imam Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, inaugurated on Sunday, Al-Azhar Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers in Nasr City.
The institute is located on an area of approximately 1000 square meters, and consists of 17 classrooms with a capacity of 360 students, a mosque, a library, a computer lab, an amphitheater and a seminar hall.
Sheikh Al-Azhar expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Center for the Development of Education for International and Foreign Students at Al-Azhar, which is exerted in following up the establishment of the institute, designing it, providing it with the latest modern technology techniques used in the fields of education, supporting international and foreign students, meeting their needs and enhancing their educational and cultural capabilities within the center's strategic plan, which aims to expand institutes for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.
This institute comes as a continuation of the role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in spreading and teaching the Arabic language to international students, and to all those who wish to learn it from non-native speakers, as an integral part of Al-Azhar's global mission based on preserving religion and language
