Al-Azhar has welcomed the UN Security Council’s resolution calling for an end to the aggression against Gaza during the sacred month of Ramadan.
It called for continued international and popular pressure to implement this resolution and to curb the Zionist aggression that has continued to kill and starve defenseless Palestinians and commit the most horrific massacres and genocides against innocent people.
Al-Azhar confirmed that this decision was long overdue due to the intransigence of some of the world powers that support the Zionist entity, noting that global popular pressure, especially in Europe and America, has embarrassed the countries and regimes supporting the occupying entity and forced them to pull back.
Moreover, Al-Azhar expressed its hope that this resolution would lead to a permanent cessation of aggression, a complete withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, and allowance of aid access to the Palestinians.
It expresses its appreciation to all the fair peoples, countries, and institutions that exerted the utmost pressure toward adopting this resolution, calling for continued work and pressure to prosecute the officials of the Zionist entity for the war crimes and genocides they have committed against the Palestinians.
Al-Azhar also invites all to join hands to provide relief to civilians in Gaza, and to intensify the immediate sending of humanitarian aid to the entire Gaza Strip, through all roads and crossings, to break this unjust siege and stop the starvation that the Palestinian people are suffering as a result of this continued brutal aggression.
