Al-Azhar has welcomed the UN Security Council’s resolution ‎calling for an end to the aggression against Gaza during the sacred month ‎of Ramadan.

It called for continued international and popular ‎pressure to implement this resolution and to curb the Zionist aggression ‎that has continued to kill and starve defenseless Palestinians and commit ‎the most horrific massacres and genocides against innocent people.‎

Al-Azhar confirmed that this decision was long overdue due to the ‎intransigence of some of the world powers that support the Zionist entity, ‎noting that global popular pressure, especially in Europe and America, has ‎embarrassed the countries and regimes supporting the occupying entity ‎and forced them to pull back.

Moreover, Al-Azhar expressed its hope that this ‎resolution would lead to a permanent cessation of aggression, a complete ‎withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, and allowance ‎of aid access to the Palestinians.‎

It expresses its appreciation to all the fair peoples, ‎countries, and institutions that exerted the utmost pressure toward ‎adopting this resolution, calling for continued work and pressure to ‎prosecute the officials of the Zionist entity for the war crimes and ‎genocides they have committed against the Palestinians.

Al-Azhar also invites all to ‎join hands to provide relief to civilians in Gaza, and to intensify the ‎immediate sending of humanitarian aid to the entire Gaza Strip, through ‎all roads and crossings, to break this unjust siege and stop the starvation ‎that the Palestinian people are suffering as a result of this continued brutal ‎aggression.‎
