On Friday, Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, president of the Arab Parliament, and Arab Parliament members affirmed their full support for the legitimate demands of Egypt and Sudan to maintain their water security, legal and Intelligible rights and shares of the Nile water.

According to a press release issued by the Arab Parliament president, Al-Asoumi stressed that Egypt and Sudan’s water security is part and parcel of the Arab National security.

"We support the Egyptian and Sudanese efforts to preserve their water security without prejudice to their inalienable rights to water, "Al-Asoumi noted.

Moreover, the Arab Parliament (AP) asserted its full support for all measures taken by Egypt and Sudan to reach a fair agreement on the dam in a manner that ensures the interests of all stakeholders and partners.

In the same context, the AP rejected affecting their historic rights on the Nile water, reiterating that the agreements signed between Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia on the Renaissance Dam should be implemented.

Al-Asoumi pointed out the role of Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is playing to help reach a fair and equitable agreement for all-stakeholders, adding that both Egypt and Sudan have proven to the whole world over the past years their keenness and insistence on the success of negotiations in accordance with the principle of mutual advantage agreement.
