Sayyed Ali Al-Amin, a member of the Muslim Council of Elders and a prominent Lebanese religious authority, emphasized that religion is built upon fundamental values, principles, and ethics that all believers must uphold. Among these, he highlighted peace as one of the most essential.
Speaking in the third episode of the Ramadan program "Humanitarian Values with the Elders", broadcast on the social media platforms of the Muslim Council of Elders, Sayyed Ali Al-Amin stated that peace is a foundational value that must be embraced, as it fosters communication and strengthens bonds among people worldwide.
He further explained that numerous religious texts encourage the spread and practice of peace in all aspects of life.
He cited the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said: "A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hands the Muslims are safe."
This, His Eminence noted, underscores that upholding peace is deeply connected to adhering to the core principles of religion.
His Eminence Sayyed Ali Al-Amin also pointed out that greetings of peace are deeply embedded in Islamic teachings: "That is why we say ‘As-salamu alaykum’ (Peace be upon you), and in prayer, we recite ‘Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah.’" These expressions, he explained, serve as a call to uphold peace as a bridge for communication within the Muslim Ummah and among all of humanity.
