The match began with Al Ahly dominating possession and applying constant pressure on Al Mokawloon’s defense. In the 8th minute, Wissam Abou Ali's attempt, set up by Hussein El Shahat, was deflected for a corner. Emam Ashour followed up with a powerful strike in the 10th minute, narrowly missing the right post of Mahmoud Abou El-Saoud's goal.
