Yesterday, I attended the ninth economic conference of Akhbar Al Youm.. Important economic dialogues, discussions and sessions that addressed frankly and clearly Egypt's economic situation and how to get out of the crisis. I felt hopeful while I'm following up the sessions in the presence of experts, investors, exporters, businessmen, and officials, and I was pleased with the course of discussions on many important files. The first session was entitled Industrial and Investment Policy between Reality and Aspiration. It was moderated by prominent businessman MP Mohamed Abul-Enein, the parliament deputy speaker. It focused on the challenges facing industry in Egypt, investment obstacles, the future of green energy, financial and monetary policies, and the repercussions of the global crisis that shook the economies of the world and affected Egypt as part of this world. The experts unanimously agreed on the need to increase Egyptian exports to increase and support the competitiveness of the local product.

I noticed the same seriousness in the second session that focused on the "start" initiative aims to support human resources within the framework of an integrated project to advance industry and qualify young people for leadership based on the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during the “first international forum and exhibition for industry” last October. The session, which was moderated by Dr. Osama Saleh, the former Minister of Investment, discussed many paths of relying on the local product, reducing imports, and supporting the business sector.

As for the third session, which was moderated by Hisham Arafat, the former Minister of Transport, it opened many files of Sinai development, the investment opportunities it presents, and the challenges facing investment there.

The fourth session discussed one of the most important files from my point of view, which is the economic role of sports investment, and it was moderated by Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports.

All of them are important files, and the discussions came at a critical time, a grinding crisis, and a Russian-Ukrainian war.

Akhbar Al-Youm conferences are always one of the strongest economic forums that are not only based on ideas, visions and theories, but present practical and implementable plans through communication with the government, specialists and experts.

All appreciation to the organizers of the economic conference including the leaders of Al-Akhbar organization such as Ahmed Galal, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Khaled Miri, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Akhbar Newspaper and Amr Al-Khayyat, Editor-in-Chief of Akhbar Al-Youm.

Special thanks to the spirit of late great writer Yasser Rizk, may God have mercy on his soul, as he kicked off this conference 9 years ago.

My appreciation to Akhbar Al-Youm, the newspaper of millions, which always proves that it is close to the people and at the heart of people's interests.
