AK Party’s Member Offers Turkish Island for 8 Million TL

Istanbul’s Councilman Ismail Karapeper, who is a member in the Justice and Development Party (AK), offered an island for sale on the Internet for 8 million TL, Zaman Newspaper reported on Friday.

The island, that Karapeper offered for sale, is located in the middle of the Kılıçkaya Dam, in Suşehri, a district of Sivas Province of Turkey.

It was sold, in 2005, to AK member Karapeper and six others by a tender, offered by General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI).

Karapeper used it later for agricultural purposes, stressing that it is highly productive in the field of agriculture

He set a price of 8 million Turkish liras, more than a million dollars, for the island with a house on it, referring to its wonderful location.

He asserted that you can produce sugar beet, chickpeas, barley and potatoes, indicating that it is suitable for all purposes, including animal husbandry.

He also noted that some people had already contacted them, but they have not received the offer they desire.
