CAIRO, Mar. 3 (SEE) - The Faculty of Medicine in Ain Shams University succeeded in achieving remarkable progress in the QS ranking in the field of medical sciences, outperforming 50 spots (301-3050), instead of last year’s rank (400-500).
The faculty also renewed its accreditation from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation & Assessment.
Mohammed Al-Meteiny, the faculty’s dean, affirmed the success of Ain Shams University in renewing its accreditation, which reflects its ability to meet the national and international standards. It also reflects its ability to win the confidence of the local and international community at the level of academic study and research aspects, as well as increasing their competitiveness in the labor market locally and internationally.
Al-Meteiny also pointed out that a delegation from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment to the college came in tandem with a high-level delegation from the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME).
The delegation highlighted its responsibility for verifying the application of global standards and improving the quality of medical education. The responsibility covers basic medical education (BME), postgraduate medical education (PME), and continuing professional development (CPD) for physicians.
The dean stressed that by 2033 there will be no place for medical colleges, which have not been accredited internationally. In addition, he said that the faculty was the first to take this step. The college was accredited for the first time in 2013 and its current accreditation is renewed for the second time 2018/2023.
