The United Company announced suspending Ahmed Shobier program due to his behavior, described as stirring up public opinion, as well as his failure to adhere to the program’s editorial policy.
Shobier said today during his show, “We are in a time of movies and bidding on sadness. We can't even be sad, just overreacting and taking the shot and making the trend."
This came because of his latest statements in which he affirmed his support for the Egyptian cycling team player, Shahd Saeed, who intentionally caused the injury of her colleague. The video angered social media users.
He concluded his speech by saying: “I realize that some may see me as inhuman after she suffered broken ribs and a concussion, but I am talking about order and laws. There must be self-confidence and following the laws, and decisions should not be made under constant pressure.”
Shobier had raised public opinion in old statements that were re-published on the social media after the death of the late football player Ahmed Refaat, in which he referred to him as using of steroids immediately after his fell down during a match against Al-Ittihad.
The Board of Directors of the United Media Services Company unanimously decided to stop the program presented by Shoubir, and according to the media contract with him, the decision to suspend the TV show means an immediate termination of the contract.
