Al Ahly couldn't penetrate Misr El-Makassa's goal as they fought to a goalless draw on Saturday in the Egyptian Premier League’s 28th round.

Ahly vs Makassa Breakdown

The Reds managed to score early in the game; however, their goal was ruled out for offside in the 13th minute.

Nine minutes later, Makkasa had a vital chance to open the scoring when Ahmed Mohsen was through on goal but his shot was met with a good save from Mohamed El-Shenawy.

In the 43rd minute, Ahmed Marei nearly scored but Reds defender Yasser Ibrahim was at the right place to make the clearance.

Rene Weiler, brought on reinforcements in Mahmoud Kahraba, Aliou Dieng, and Walid Soliman in the second half to try and break the Makkassa defenses.

The Red Devils were also handed a boost just before the hour mark when El-Makkasa centre-back, Mohamed Dabash, was sent off for bringing down Aliou Dieng, who was through on goal.

However, Makkasa still managed to keep this year's EPL champions at bay to earn a point away from home.

On the other hand, Al Ahly were already confirmed as Egyptian Premier League champions for a record 42nd time in the club’ history before the game.
