The Israeli "Ynet" website reported that Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has postponed his scheduled official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain, which was planned next week, to an unspecified date.
The website stated that "due to developments on the political arena in Israel, Netanyahu postponed his scheduled visit to the UAE and Bahrain, which was planned for next week, and no new date was set for the visit."
It is noteworthy that this is the second time that the visit has been postponed; it was planned that Netanyahu would visit Abu Dhabi and Manama on the 20 and 21 of this month.
On November 26, Israeli sources reported that the visit of the Israeli Premier which was planned for the first week of December to Manama, the capital city of the Kingdom of Bahrain, was postponed at the request of the Bahraini government.
The "Israel 24" website said that Israeli officials said that the Bahrainis had asked to postpone the visit, provided that it be part of Netanyahu's visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Following the postponement of Netanyahu's visit to Bahrain, the visit of the Israeli Foreign Minister, Gabi Ashkenazi, to Manama was also canceled, as he had been scheduled to participate in the annual security conference held in the city.
Netanyahu had intended to visit Bahrain and the UAE, for the first time, on December 1 and 2, but the Emiratis made it clear that the date is "inconvenient" for them, because it coincides with the UAE Independence Day, and they asked Netanyahu to arrive later in the month.
