Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said on Tuesday that Aswan Forum for Sustainable Development and Peace is being held this year at a critical time, as the international community is suffering from mounting tensions.
In his word, Sisi pointed out that Aswan forum is an 'effective' and 'inclusive' African platform that discuss various challenges and threats facing the continent.
Moreover, Egypt's head of state said that the rising tensions around the globe are having an impact on our African countries, especially on food and energy security.
"Food crisis in Africa may have serious repercussions on the safety and stability of our societies," Sisi stressed.
It is worth mentioning that, the 3rd edition of the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development kicked off on Monday in Cairo. It focuses on climate and security issues in Africa.
