This morning, Afghan well-known TV presenter and journalist Malala Maiwand and her driver were shot dead by unknown gunmen, according to Russia Today (RT).
The attack took place while Maiwand was on her way to work.
One of her colleagues at Enikaas TV channel, confirmed the incident, adding that not much information is available at the moment.

Meanwhile, the Taliban said the group was not behind the assassination.
It is worth mentioning that, in 2020, at least 10 Afghan journalists have been killed in the country.
