On Sunday, at least twenty civilians were killed, and twenty others wounded as a blast hit the Police District (PD5) of Kabul, Russia Today (RT) reported, according to Afghan media outlets.
The explosion targeted the vehicle of Haji Khan Mohammad Wardak, a member of parliament from Kabul. However, Wardak survived the attack.
Three vehicles have caught fire in the area (PD5), however, it is unclear if the explosion is the cause, Interior Ministry said in a statement.
It is worth mentioning that, the Taliban militant group has conducted scores of targeted attacks against civilians and military officials in recent years. The armed outfit considers anyone working for the government, NATO, and U.S.-led troops as a target.
