Afghanistan: 47 Killed, Dozens Injured, and Hundreds of Homes Destroyed from Flash Floods

The Afghan Disaster Affairs Department announced that the death toll from the recent floods in the country has risen to 47 dead and 57 injured, in addition to severe damage to hundreds of homes and agricultural acres.

The Afghan Khaama Press news agency quoted today, Friday, the head of the Disaster Affairs Department, Shafiullah Rahimi, as saying that the floods that swept 11 Afghan provinces claimed the lives of at least 47 people and injured 57 others.

The Afghani agency stated that those affected by the floods are urging the Taliban authorities and humanitarian organizations to supply them with basic needs and provide them with shelter.

The agency noted that Afghanistan is one of the countries most vulnerable to natural disasters, including floods, earthquakes, landslides, and drought.
