The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations winner will be awarded $4.5 million by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).  On the other hand, the runner-up will be handed $2.5 million.

A few hours later, lights will be shed on the Cairo stadium, where Algeria will play the final game at AFCON against Senegal (21:00CLT).

The Desert warriors are seeking to end their 29-year drought and claim the title for the second time in their history, while the Teranga Lions will try to write the history and achieve  the first trophy in their history.

Both teams met before in this tournament in the group stage when Algeria pulled off a 1-0 victory over Senegal.

The one-time title holders reached a first final since 1990 with a hard-fought semi-final victory over Nigeria (2-1), whereas Senegal qualified for the final game after snatching a narrow victory over Tunisia (1-0).
