The Administrative court annulled the Olympic Committee decision of suspending Zamalek's former chairman Mortada Mansour for four years.
The Commissioners Authority of the Administrative Court issued a judicial report in this case, in which it recommended that Article 67 of Sports Law No. 71 of 2017 be referred to the Supreme Constitutional Court, on suspicion of its unconstitutionality and its violation of the principle of the citizen's right to resort to his natural judge to force litigants in sports disputes.
On October 4, the Egyptian Olympic Committee has suspended on Sunday Zamalek’s president Mortada Mansour four years and called for running new elections for the White Knights’ presidency.
In a statement, the Egyptian Committee has banned Ahmed Mortada Mansour from practicing any sporting activity and fined him EGP 100,000.
It also banned the Whites’ president from holding any meetings or setting up any general assemblies during the suspension period.
The Egyptian Committee also prevented him from taking any official decisions, related to any financial issues.
“Zamalek’s vice president and the board of directors’ members must call for holding an ordinary general assembly. Its purpose is to call for running elections in the board of directors’ vacant seats, especially the chairman seat,” it concluded.
