Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, President of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD), has called for participation in Earth Hour on Saturday, March 22.

In his statement, Prince Abdulaziz emphasized the council’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, stating: “As part of our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, I invite you to join Earth Hour. This global event aims to raise awareness about climate change and the importance of protecting our planet.

Therefore, I call everyone to take part by turning off unnecessary lights for one hour and supporting the culture of energy conservation in our communities. Let’s use this occasion to reflect on our role in protecting the environment and inspire others to take positive steps toward a sustainable future.”

The ACCD will participate in the event by switching off the lights of its headquarters for one hour on Saturday.

This initiative reaffirms the significance of the event and contributes to reducing environmental degradation and climate change threats. It also aligns with the council’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the importance of addressing climate change issues.

Earth Hour is recognized as the world's largest environmental movement.

It was launched in 2007 with the symbolic act of “turning off the lights” across the globe to show support for the planet and raise awareness of environmental issues.
