Aboul Gheit: Egypt’s Nile Water Share Will Never Decrease

Secretary-General of Arab League (AL) Ahmed Aboul Gheit confirmed, on Sunday, that Egypt's share of the River Nile water amounts to 55.5 billion cubic meters annually, which is sufficient to fully meet the citizens' needs. 

 

In press remarks to local newpaper, on the sidelines of the 15th Arab Conference of the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy, Aboul Gheit added that Egypt seeks to meet the future needs of Egyptians.

 

Moreover, he affirmed that Egypt's share will never decrease no matter what happens, pointing out that Egypt will not compromise regarding its interests in the River Nile or its water rights.
