Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, condemned the Israeli Knesset’s decision to classify UNRWA as a terrorist organization, describing the decision as a form of absurdity and political bankruptcy, and a violation to humanitarian and human rights work at the international level.
Gamal Rushdi, the official spokesman for the Secretary-General, said that Aboul Gheit considered that the decision targets the legitimacy of UNRWA and its international reputation, and that it is part of a systematic campaign undertaken by the occupying state in order to undermine the role of the international agency that works in serving refugees.
