Abou El-Enein to Israelis: Put Forward Effective Initiative with Open-Mindedness to Combat Terrorism

During an appearance at the Mediterranean Parliament in Rome, MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, made a call for Israel to contribute a substantive peace initiative towards counter-terrorism. As the honorary president of the Parliament, his comments have attracted attention.

In a video clip shared by TV anchor Ahmed Mousa, Abul-Enein posed a question to the Israelis. He argued that if the Arab nation could put forward and renew a peace initiative, what actions could Israel undertake? He went on to suggest: "We say to Israel, put forward an effective initiative with open-minded thinking to eliminate terrorism."

The discussion at the Bureau meeting, in which MP Abou El-Enein took part as the honorary president of the Parliament and a member of the Bureau, examined priority topics on the agenda of the three parliamentary committees - political, economic, and cultural - for the forthcoming period. In addition, issues and procedures related to the organization of the general session of the Parliament, which will be held early next year, were also covered.
