Abbas Pledges to Refer Abu Akleh's Assassination Case to ICC

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas vowed to prosecute Israel at the International Criminal Court (ICC), saying that it is fully responsible for the murder of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, on Wednesday.

Abbas announced at an official funeral for Abu Akleh at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah yesterday, Thursday, a day before her funeral today, in Jerusalem, his refusal to conduct a joint investigation with Israel; Because it is the party that committed the crime. "We do not trust it, and we will immediately go to the International Criminal Court," he said.

"This crime should not go unpunished.” Abbas said.

The Palestinian president decided to award Abu Akleh the Jerusalem Star Medal.
