Decent Life Foundation announced Sunday the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Vodafone Egypt Corporation, to provide digital education in 100 schools through integrating technology and digital infrastructure with education.
Based on this protocol, Vodafone Corporation equips these schools with the latest technological devices, connects them to the Internet, and provides digital content through an educational platform that includes various educational curricula for all school levels.
It also offers training programs for students and teachers on how to use technology and advanced solutions in education.
This partnership comes within the framework of the two institutions' support for the state's efforts in the digital transformation system and the development of education and within the framework of the implementation of the "Decent Life" initiative to improve and develop the neediest villages.
Vodafone Egypt is also keen, through this partnership, to raise the efficiency of the infrastructure of its cellular network in the villages engaging in the initiative, to improve the quality of communications and provide the Internet with higher efficiency, in line with the state's strategy in supporting the concept of digital transformation, which has become one of the most important elements of building society for a better future.
On her part, Aya Omar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of ‘A Decent Life’, which is a non-profit charitable organization registered at the Ministry of Social Solidarity under No. 902 for the year 2019, stated, “This protocol comes as one of the most important objectives of the national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside ‘A decent life’ and aims at uniting all efforts of government, the public and private sector and civil society institutions.”
“The Egyptian state is witnessing, for the first time in its history, the storming of the poverty file in this way, as President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has made it a top priority since taking over the country,” Omar said.
She also lauded the protocol with the Vodafone Development Foundation regarding the education axis, hoping that this fruitful cooperation would benefit the Decent Life initiative.
On his part, Eng. Mohamed Hena, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Vodafone Egypt Foundation for Community Development, said: "We are proud of our partnership with the "Decent Life" Foundation and the unification of efforts to provide better services to citizens in villages.
“Our contribution to providing a digital educational experience comes in line with the foundation’s strategy and the main objective, which is to raise awareness of digital education and the importance of its application in schools, and to provide students, parents and teachers with the tools, knowledge and experience necessary to reach an integrated digital educational environment in line with the country’s 2030 vision for sustainable development,” he added.
It is worth noting that the Vodafone Egypt Foundation for Community Development launched an educational platform in 2019, as the first digital educational platform for parents, teachers and students in Egypt.
