The 9th United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Global Forum started on Tuesday in Fez, Kingdom of Morocco with the participation of 50 ministers and heads of delegations from member states with a focus on the recent mediation in cultural and religious conflicts.
The UNAOC Forum will be running from 22- 23 November 2022, under the theme "Towards an Alliance of Peace: Living Together as One Humanity".
Miguel Ángel Moratinos, High Representative for the UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) said that this latest edition of the Global Forum is taking place at the right moment in human evolution, and also explained why religious leaders, women and youth are critical to building peaceful and just societies.
The global event will bring together official delegations representing the UNAOC Group of Friends, political leaders, representatives of international and regional organizations, religious leaders, faith actors, youth, representatives of the private sector, civil society, academia, arts, sports and media, as well as donor agencies and foundations, to engage in a robust exchange of innovative ideas on a wide range of global issues that our world is facing today.
