8 Militants of ‘Al-Shabaab’ Killed

The Somali Armed Forces announced the killing of 8 members of the terrorist movement, ‘Al-Shabaab’, in the ‘Tortoro’ region of Shabelle Governorate, southern Somalia.

“A military operation carried out by the national ‘commando’ forces in the suburbs of Tortoro  resulted in the elimination of eight members of the, ‘Al-Shabaab’ movement, ” Odowaa Yusuf Rageh, Chief of the Somali Armed Forces, confirmed according to SONNA.

The army forces also destroyed bases of the terrorist movement in the ‘Merdujul’ area of  Gilgaduud governorate, in the center of the country, during an operation which the movement elements carried out in the eastern regions of the governorate.

Yesterday, the Somali Armed Forces announced that 13 members of the terrorist movement died in an operation that took place in the "Priere" area of Lower Shabelle Governorate.

After carrying out extensive operations in various regions in the country, the Somali Armed Forces was recently able to regain a number of areas that were under the control the terrorist movement.
