6.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan

On Thursday, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit Japan a day after the 7.4 magnitude quake that struck Taiwan.

The 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit the east coast of Honshu, Japan, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.

The quake was at a depth of 32 km, EMSC added. 

No immediate injuries or damage were reported after the earthquake that was also felt in Tokyo. 

TEPCO, the operator of the Fukushima nuclear power plant, said "no abnormalities" were detected at the plant or others in the region.
