In my opinion, the Sultanate of Oman has witnessed numerous accomplishments over the past five years under the leadership of the Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
Throughout the ages, the people of the Sultanate of Oman have proven their steadfast unity, resembling a solid structure, rejecting all forms of fanaticism, taking the initiative to do good, and building their homeland.
For me, the Sultanate of Oman has preserved its identity as an independent sovereign state throughout its history. Many forms of governance have succeeded one another, each playing a vital civilizational role.
On this occasion, I commend Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's decision to announce that the 20th of November will be celebrated as the National Day of the Sultanate of Oman every year. This date marks the Al Busaidi family's honor of serving this country since 1744, under the leadership of the founding Imam, Sayyid Ahmed bin Said Al Busaidi. He unified the Omani nation and led its struggle and sacrifices to achieve full sovereignty over the land of Oman, safeguarding the freedom and dignity of its honorable people. Following him, successive great Sultans carried the nation’s banner with courage and competence, continuing its victorious march with determination and persistence.
I believe that the celebration of this day immortalizes the noble deeds of those Sultans.
In fact, recent years have witnessed the launch of Oman Vision 2040, charting a clear path toward the future. Continuous progress has been made toward the goals of this Renewed Renaissance, including notable improvements in many national and international indicators. These achievements would not have been possible without the efforts of the Sultan, the government and the Omani people.
Without further ado, the Sultan has pledged to sustain this progress in the coming years in a way that enhances the quality and efficiency of services that citizens aspire to. To achieve this integration, the Omani government has focused on building an extensive network of ports, free zones, special economic zones, and integrated industrial zones. It has also extended support to innovation and entrepreneurship programs, as well as investment funds—both national and joint ventures with Arab and friendly nations.
At the end, I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to everyone contributing to the development of this great nation, the Sultanate of Oman.
