5 Natural Oils to Moisturize Skin during Heat Wave

No doubt, this summer is one of the hottest ones yet but that is not all, it has been announced that an extreme heat wave will hit us this upcoming week. It is really important to keep your skin moisturized and healthy, so, here are 5 Oils to moisturize your skin during the heat wave:

1. Coconut Oil.

Coconut oil is a great natural oil for the skin due to its ability to moisturize the skin and retain that moisture. Coconut oil also soothes the dry skin with its anti-inflammatory properties not to mention that the lauric acid in it gives it antimicrobial properties that kill any bacteria on the skin and reduce inflammation.

2. Olive Oil.

Olive oil penetrates the skin deeply and provides a long-lasting layer of moisture to keep the skin smooth and soft during the heat wave. It is also full of fatty acids like palmitic, linoleic and oleic acids that are great for dry skin. Olive oil has antioxidant properties that may prevent aging.

Olive oil is best applied on damp skin seeing as the water reduces the greasy feeling.

3. Argan Oil.

Argan oil is derived from the Moroccan argan tree. It has proven moisturizing abilities and is rich in anti-inflammatory linoleic acid and soothing vitamin E. Studies have shown its ability to increase skin elasticity.

Argan oil also helps in calming the sebum overproduction and it is known to heal as it hydrates which helps in minimizing the appearance of scars and fine lines.

4. Grapeseed Oil.

Grapeseed oil has a lightweight form that is packed with moisturizing elements, vitamin C, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. It can be used on all types of skin and has antiaging and hydrating benefits.

Grapeseed oil also helps with diminishing the lines in places with thin and vulnerable skin like the neck and around the eyes.

5. Sunflower Seed Oil.

Sunflower seed oil is a great remedy for dry skin especially during the heat wave, it has linoleic acid that protects and moisturizes the skin. It also improves the hydration with essential fatty acids and improves the skin barrier. Sunflower seed oil has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe dermatitis and it also protects the skin from irritation.
