The Philippine Center for Disaster Mitigation and Management announced today, Friday, that more than 380,000 people were affected by typhoon Saola, which hit large parts of the country.
The center reported - according to the Philippine "ABS-CBN" network - that there are about 21,700 people residing in evacuation centers, while the authorities are currently verifying reports of the death of a person as a result of the typhoon.
The typhoon destroyed dozens of homes and caused infrastructure losses worth 41 million Philippine pesos, and losses in the agricultural sector worth 395 million Philippine pesos.
