At least 30 people have lost their lives in road accidents over the past two days in Senegal, Guinea, and Gambia, according to information from authorities and rescue services, reported by Agence France-Presse on Friday.
In Senegal, 14 people were killed and 54 others injured in a bus accident on Thursday afternoon in the Yamoung region, in Kongo, about 380 kilometers east of Dakar, according to a toll published by the Senegalese Ministry of Health on its website.
In Guinea, an accident on Wednesday evening in the southeast of the country resulted in the death of 16 people, including two children, and injured 52 others, as reported by the Health Minister on government television.
Meanwhile, a Senegalese soldier from the West African Force stationed in neighboring Gambia was killed on Tuesday, and eight others were injured in a road accident near the border with Senegal, according to the Senegalese army in a statement released on Friday.
