Christmas is slowly approaching and it is time to start setting up the decorations. A great way to spend some quality bonding time with your kids is to make your own decorations at home. So, here are 3 DIY Christmas decorations to make with your kids at home:

  • Santa count down calendar
  • This is a great way to help your kids know the dates and memorize them.

Cut a circle out of white paper and let your kids draw Santa’s eyes, nose, and cheeks with some crayons or marker on it. Before cutting Santa’s hat from red and white paper and gluing a cotton ball to the tip of the hat. Finally, cut a large beard shape from white paper and let your kids right the month’s dates. Leave some cotton balls and glue close to the calendar and everyday let your kids glue a cotton ball to the day’s date. By December 25th, Santa will have a huge fluffy beard.

  • Christmas Jingle bells decoration
  • Your kids will love making these because there is nothing they love more than little noise making decorations.

Knot one end of three different lengths of holiday ribbons before letting your kids thread large jingle bells into the unknotted end. Tie the ribbons into one big bow when they are done and attach the bells to a wreath or a circular shaped wire. Hang the bells on the front door or above the mantel.

  • Wreath
  • This is a great way to teach your kids how to tie a knot.

Cut some strips from two shades of green felt before letting your kids tie them around a big circular wire. When they are done glue some small red colored ornaments to the strips with hot glue. Loop a long holiday ribbon through the wreath and hang it on the front door or your kids’ room door.
