The Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector, Ashraf Al-Azazy, received Murad Gatin, the Director of Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, in the presence of Denis Bronikov, the Director of Russian Language Courses.

Al-Azazy welcomed the Egyptian-Russian cooperation in the field of education and scientific research, stressing that this cooperation is an extension of the long decades of bilateral cooperation between the two sides.

He emphasized that Egypt does not forget the partners who stood by it in the development path, as Russia prepared thousands of Egyptian graduates in all disciplines to lead the development in Egypt.

Al-Azazy pointed out the importance of continuing this cooperation, as is happening now in preparing Egyptian cadres in the field of nuclear energy through Russian grants.

On his part, Gatin indicated that the Russian government took a new and important decision regarding Egypt, as the number of Russian scholarships provided to the Egyptian side increased from 110 to 250 in all disciplines, which reflects Egypt's position on the Russian side.

According to Gatin, this decision will provide more opportunities for Egyptian youth to enroll in Russian universities through this scholarship.

He also mentioned that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt is our main partner for coordinating the grant implementation process.

He also expressed his happiness with the interest of Egyptian universities in introducing the Russian language as a second foreign language, as several departments of the Russian language were opened in more than one Egyptian university.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Azazy thanked the Russian side for increasing the number of scholarships, stressing that the sector will contact Egyptian universities as soon as possible to receive their nominations for Egyptian scholars wishing to enroll in Russian universities.
