At least 22 persons died in Lithuania after receiving COVID-19 vaccines this year, media agencies reported on Sunday.
The Spokesperson of the Lithuanian State Medicines Control Agency Aiste Tautvidiene said: "During the entire immunization period, 22 reports of deaths after vaccination were filed; however, the direct connection between the administration of a vaccine and a patient’s demise could be neither confirmed nor debunked in all cases."
She added: "Every case is reviewed inpidually; a correlation between potential vaccination side effects and the cause of death is being determined in compliance with the developed methodology."
The authorities gave a total of 3,185,776 vaccine doses since the beginning of the vaccination rollout, according to WHO. In addition, Lithuania depends on several vaccines such as Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the state reported 347,548 COVID-19, including 5,179 deaths.
Various countries previously reported deaths linked with COVID-19 vaccines such as Germany, Cyprus, UK and Newzealand.
