The 2024 Paris Paralympics will kick off today, Wednesday, and it will last until September 8.
The opening ceremony will take place at the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris and will conclude at the Place de la Concorde.
The athletes will parade along the route outside of a stadium for the first time in the history of the games.
Around 4,400 athletes from around the world will compete in 549 medal events across 22 sports.
Several events will take place at the same venues that hosted the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The medals are also similar to the ones awarded at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
These games will be the first Summer Paralympic Games in France.
