Two mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines produced by the Chinese drugmaker CanSino Biologics showed efficiency against the virus during the earliest clinical trials, Xinhua cited a study on Sunday.
The earliest results showed that both vaccines can enhance the performance of the human's immunity against the Coronavirus' various variants, including Omicron and its subvariants.
The two-doses vaccines were approved for the first phase of the clinical trials in April
Beijing is witnessing a new outbreak of COVID-19 connected to a bar, the Chinese authorities announced on Saturday.
The warning of the Coronavirus outbreak came with imposing some restrictions in Beijing’s famous districts including Chaoyang where all entertainment venues should be closed.
On the other hand, Shanghai, China’s commercial hub, started on Friday imposing a new lockdown on millions of people for a mass COVID-19 testing campaign this weekend.
The campaign is coming only 10 days after lifting the two-month lockdown due to the latest outbreak of the virus inside the city as the authorities detected new community cases including a case traced to a popular beauty salon.
The authorities demanded this city-wide test for preventing any further emergence of the virus among the residents of the city.
Last week, residents of the Chinese capital, Beijing, celebrated the lifting of restrictions and the reopening of restaurants, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Since the beginning of May, bars, cafes, gyms, and museums have been closed in Beijing, as well as dozens of Metro stations in the city of 22 million people, to cope with the outbreak of the COVID pandemic.
Beijing recorded only dozens of daily infections with COVID, but like anywhere else in China, the municipality implemented a “zero COVID” strategy to limit the spread of the virus and deaths.
It is worthy to mention that China reported 151 new coronavirus cases in June 9, including 106 asymptomatic cases, according to the National Health Commission.
