A devastating explosion struck a fireworks factory in central Thailand today, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least 18 people, according to rescue sources.
Earlier reports had initially cited a death toll of 20, as reported by the French Press Agency (AFP).
Local media outlets have shared images depicting thick black smoke billowing from the site of the incident, located near rice fields.
The explosion occurred in the afternoon in the province of Suphan Buri, about 120 kilometers north of Bangkok, as confirmed by local authorities.
The governor of the province told Reuters that as of now, no survivors have been found.
